I love, love, love this dress. Shopped the thrift store and found this Lilly Pultizer Green dress for, ready for this, $20.00. Yes lady's this is not a typo $20.00. OMG. I love the feel of the dress. I love the color of the dress. I love the chicness of this dress. Most of all, I love the price of this dress.
Lillian Pulitzer Rousseau (born Lillian Lee McKim on November 10, 1931), better known as Lilly Pulitzer, is a socialite and fashion designer. She is known for founding Lilly Pulitzer, Inc., which produces clothing and other wares featuring bright, colorful, floral prints. Because the brand has been very popular with high society, Lilly has been called the "Queen of Prep".
OK so back to the dress at hand. I love the fact that is gathers at the bust line and the waist. With this soft material, it hides a lot of flaws. It also a very sexy look, but not overly sexy. It fits my personality great. Sassy and chic. Great for the office or even a night out with the girls/man. Now let's get to those shoes. The shoes are from Emilio Pucci. I didn't studder, I said Emilio Pucci:
Emilio Pucci, Marquess of Barsento (Italian pronunciation: [eˌmiːlio ˈpuʧːi]), (20 November 1914 – 29 November 1992) was a Florentine Italian fashion designer and politician. He and his eponymous company are synonymous with geometric prints in a kaleidoscope of colours.
I bought them at a thrift store for around $35.00 and they still had the new tags that said they were being sold for $227.00 at Zappos. SCORE. They are fabulous. So comfortable and the multi color earth tones will got great with everything. They are slingbacks and the heel is a 3 incher. I love this outfit and the price is one of my best bargains. Enjoy

That Little Black Dress with a Twist
The little black dress is a staple in any women's wardrobe. I really like the little black dress because you can wear it over and over again and make it look different every time. I didn't really put to many accessories with this dress in this picture but as you can see with the other picture, I put a vintage 1960's canary yellow coat over it. I also wanted to dress to pop a little in both pictures with my shoes. The shoes I bought from DSW. The were around $20.00. I'm not a shoe person, no matter how bad I want to be Carrie from Sex In The City.
I don't get any pleasure out of seeing a pair of amazing shoes and wanting to have them. I grew up in the country and we walked bare footed all the time. But if you know anything about fashion, shoes are the soul to making an outfit pop. I do have some great shoes that I want to feature, so I'll have to look into being a little more Carrie like. OK so back to the little black dress thing. This dress is very appropriate for my age and my look. I maybe should have put my hair up, but I wanted a more sexy look. I do agree that the look with the jacket I differently should have had my hair up, but again I wanted to make the look a little more casual. Enjoy

Today is Inauguration Day - Why Not be Chic
It's Martin Luther King Day and the Inauguration of President Obama. There are so many parties going on tonight the celebrate the joyous day. Would it be great to have a stunning dress to go to celebrate this day. This Tadashi red dress is just the thing you need to get that elegant and chic style. I really love this dress that I got at an estate sale. This is also on sale in my closet. Such a wonderful piece for us mature women who want to stand out. The red is electrifying and the way it gathers all around makes those curves and bumps stand disappear. Such a comfortable dress to wear. The chest has great support for the girls. It falls to the knees and it pulls in that stomach so we can eat a little more than usual. I really love how it make you look sexy with out giving out to much. The shoes are clear so I can get just a little more height and leaner. I also put just a little jewelry on for a little more glamour. Loving life as a ThriftyGurl.

Sexy But Safe
Sorry for the blurring picture. No lighting today due to the weather. I wanted to share this outfit of the day never less. I think this is such a sexy but safe outfit for my age. I love the color green. It makes my skin pop and it also makes the all black pop. I paired a sheer blouse with this great Bebe mini 60's inspired dress. I added so black tights and my BCBG high ass pumps. The bag is a Mary Frances handbag I got in Richmond VA. The Mary Frances handbag cost over $100.00, but it was a gift. The sheer blouse was around $34.00 and the Bebe dress I got at a thriftstore for around $6.00. Fabulous. I love this outfit soooo much. Sexy but safe. I am also introducing my new hair style. The natural curly Afro. I always wanted to have one, but my hair has always been to long or to damage. I am in the process of growing it out and I think this will be a great way to do so. I'm loving the new look. Funky but Chic. Life As A ThriftyGurl
