Black On Black With A Splash of Red

I wanted to get a little more sophisticated  for the spring, so I decided to take that slimming black outfit and hit it with a splash of red.  This top is a sheer black tank with a beautiful black sheer bow at the upper shoulder.  I paired it with a great black flared skirt for that touch of sophistication.   The skirt and the top are on sale at ThriftyGurl Boutique.  I wanted to also put a piece of jewelry to make the sophistication level go up, so I have the great three layered pearl necklace.  And last, I put the red belt in for that splash of color.  Loving the outfit.  Now a touch of spring weather would top this outfit off.  Enjoy

Lilly Pultzer - Great Look For That Great Gal

Sick, Sexy and chic.  I'm wasn't really one for Lilly Pultezer due to the fact that I thought that it wasn't sexy, but look at me know.  These great floral print short are A-Maze-Balls.  I just lost a few pounds and I tried on the sort.  What a great fit, great quality short.  They are long enough to be approperate for my age.  The sheer blouse goes great with these shorts.  Of course I worn the top here with nothing under for effect, so don't worry girls, you won't see me walking down the street with boobs full monte.  I really love the necklace (Sold) that I put on with the shorts.  The necklace was a great find at the thrift store.  25% off day.  I can't wait to wear this look this summer.

Max Mara and Escada - What a great pair

I love my designer pieces.  Here is a Max Mara black blouse and a Escada polka dot skirt.  Both purchase at thirft stores.  Max Mara $15.00 Escada skirt $10.00.  Chic and very comfortable.  I don't have a 9 to 5, but if I did, I would look sooooo amazeballs in this.  I would look like the CEO of the company.  Great prices and a chic look.  The Max Mara top has this great ruffle design from the collar to the waist.  Buttons are high quality.  Max Mara is a very exclusive clothing line the caters to the rich and famous.  Finding finds like this is one of a kind and the secret to great prices like this is, sometimes the people who price at the thrift stores don't know all the designers out there.  Take advantage of this.  Know your designer wear.

Note *  Achille Maramotti began designing couture clothing in 1947, and officially established the House of Max Mara in 1951.  The "Mara" cam from his surname, while "Max" referred to Count Max, a local character who was seldom sober but always stylish.  Maramotti was one of the first to see that the future of fashion lay in the mass production of designer quality clothes.  He was also keen to emphasise the brand of Max Mara ahead of the names of individual designers, even thought he employed future big names such as Karl Lagerfeld, Jean Charles de Castelbajac, Dolce & Gabbana and Narciso Rodriguez.  The company remains in the hands of the family and they like to maintain a veil of secrecy about the activities of the company.

PLAYING WITH VINTAGE

I've been playing around with vintage pieces this week.  Don't know why, but it was a great idea.  I do love selling vintage, but now I think I will keep a few pieces to wear myself.  Take this great vintage top.  I'm thinking it was made around the 70's.  Very light weight and filled with sequin and stones.  Light blue with tassels on the bottom.  I would have never thought that if you put a piece of vintage with some great designer jeans, that it would look this great.  I'm in love.  The jeans are designer that I bought in a thrift store for around $3.00. I went on 25% off day and I get some great bargains.  The belt was purchased in North Carolina for .10 cents.  The jeans again were purchased at the thrift store for around $6.00.  The shoes are clear and go with everything.  Also bought in a thrift store.  I just love this out fit.  So comfortable and stylish.  The glasses are Fendi.  Also bought on online at a thrifty store.  The cost was under $20.00.
