Vintage Goes Modern

Vintage, Vintage and more Vintage.  I know everyone sees all this vintage blogs and the clothing looks a like, let's say unique.  Vintage can look modern if you pair it with some modern pieces.  Check out this great white sheer blouse I got at the thrift store.  It cost around $2.99 and I paired it with a great pair of distressed designer jeans I purchased for around $6.00.  I have a white plain stretch camy I got from Belks in NC.  I wanted to stay with a colored belt that I also got from a thrifty store for 10 cents.  The necklace says Love in faux rhinestone and I wore my favorite beige shoes from BCBG.  The point to this blog post is that you can make vintage look more modern and I think this look really looks romantic.  The sheer vintage top can get a little sexier if you let your imagination go wild.  Enjoy

It's Christmas time and it's also very cold outside.  This Vintage coat from Peabody House NYC.  This coat has such a vibrant tangerine color.  It's sold for $20.00 at a business party I attended in Virginia.  The coat is tailored to fix your body.  Very warm and comfy.  The person that bought this coat is 50 years of age and has such a chic style.  She has such a young spirit to her as well.  As you can see from the pictures, it has some great vintage buttons that I had in my sewing kit (which by the way, I got from an estate sale)  all vintage buttons.  The coat is also lined.  I love this picture taken at a lake in Maryland.  I through a black and grey leopard scarf around it for more style.  Enjoy

My Reversible Vintage Fur (Two Looks In One)

I always talk about find great treasures at thrift store.  Well there are other amazing places to search for great find that are very low in cost.  Estate Sales.  I got this amazing reversible rabbit fur jacket at an estate sale.   The jacket was purchased for around $10.00.  Now tell me is that a still or what??????
As you can see from this picture.  This is the rabbit fur side.  So cozy and warm with such great style.  I love wearing this with a pair of jeans or leggings.  Yes ladies, don't believe that the legging is out.  I wear them all the time and I get so many people telling me how great I look.  Back to the fur jacket.  The jacket zips in the front and has two pockets on each side.  The top picture is a more casual look.  The tan color gives it a vintage look.  I would say that this jacket was made in the 60's.

50's Pin Up Dress

I really appreciate this great 50"s styled pin up dress.  The dress was $7.99 at the thrifty store and I happen to have gone on the day they had 25% off day.  You do the math.  As you can see, the dress falls to the knee which is very age appropriate, but very sexy.  The lace in the back gives it a little peek a boo effect.  I wanted to give the dress more pop so I paired the dress with leopard wedges which I purchased for around $20.00 ( wedges are so comfortable, but be careful) and the dress hides all the stomach flaws that you may have.  Sexy Mama.  I want to tell you a secret about the hair.  I glued the some hair extentions in  for a longer effect.  The hair was purchased at the beauty supply store for just $9.99.  This look is amazing without breaking the bank.  This look will do great at any event.  Enjoy

Will Someone Please Find Me A Lunch Party

This is a great dress from Nine West.  This dress was also found at a thrift store.  The dress is in great condition and the colors has no fade.  The materials are a little heavy, but soft.  The tunic style will make me stand out at any garden party or just a everyday dress.  I love, love, love the colors.  It is also somewhat of a color block dress.  It has these two great pockets on the side for that lipgloss I love.  I really like this dress because of the color block and the tunic style.  This is diffently a dress for the Chic mature women like me.  I have on some BCBG pumps, but the dress will look great with flats or sandals.  You can find this item for sale on my style.ly sales site https://style.ly/boutique/Kat-Smith-7443.  Enjoy

For Work or Play at over 40 (Apt 9 Dress)

Now this is a great dress I bought at a thrifty store. This dress is an Apt 9 polyester dress that will look great at work. I love the colors, red and white. I paired the dress with some casual shoes from BCBG. This dress is very comfortable and stylish. I'm a 48 year old mother and sometimes my boys get a little embarrassed with my style, but this will be great to wear at their school for a meeting with the teachers. So chic and elegant. If you find a great thrifty store, stick with it. You can get dressed like this for around $4.00 to $6.00 dollars or even less. It seems like thrift stores have a few days in the week that have a percentage off. I know a few around the area. I must warn you that you do have to visit the stores more than one time a week to find these amazing finds. I do visit the stores at least 3 to 4 times a week. But I am a reseller, so that is how I make my money.

What a great dress for that lovely occasion. It's hot somewhere in the world. This dress is inspired by the 50's. I found this dress at a church sale in Sunset Beach North Carolina. All the dresses were $5.00 each and I got several for my boutique ThriftyGurl. This dress is on sale at https://style.ly/boutique/Kat-Smith-7443, my Style.ly boutique. This dress had no damage at all, so selling it will be easty. Size is a 12, but I put this belt around the waist and it formed to my body. Fabulous. I love the innocents of this dress and lord knows I'm not innocent. The color is a peachy/pink satin. I paired it with some great mauve pumps with a thicker heel. I don't really like to wer thinner heels because I'm on my feet. No pain no gain is not my moto. At 48 this style is very appropreate for me. Enjoy
